The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper on the subject of General Knowledge & General Science. The question paper is of objective type and carries a maximum of 200 marks. Examination is a screening test, only for admission to mains examination and marks obtained will not be counted in final merit. Hence, candidates need to just clear the exam. There are 150 questions of multiple choice (Objective Type / MCQs) and there is a negative marking of 1/3 mark of question for each wrong answer.
Eligibility for RPSC RAS Exam
- Educational Qualification:- Must hold a Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government in consultation with the Commission.
- Age limit for RAS Examination: Minimum 21 years and maximum less than 40 years. (As per RAS 2018 notification)
- Non-gazetted officer: Age should not be less than 25 years and not greater than 45 years.
